LEXAN THERMOCLICK Polycarbonate Sheet
Fire Performance

Conventional polycarbonate facade systems depend on aluminium vertical profiles at every panel joint. That means more material, more assembly time, and a busier visual finish than the project needs.

LEXAN™ THERMOCLICK™ eliminates vertical profiles entirely.

Its patented tongue-and-groove interlocking connection lets panels click together directly, creating a seamless, thermally insulated facade wall without additional framing at the joins. Fewer components. Faster installation. A cleaner architectural result.

What Is LEXAN™ THERMOCLICK™ Sheet?

LEXAN™ THERMOCLICK™ is a multiwall polycarbonate profile sheet engineered for vertical wall glazing, facades, and cladding applications.

The sheet features a unique four-wall X-structure with a groove for double-sided tie on the inside, and a profiled tongue-and-groove connection along each panel edge. Panels interlock side by side without any vertical aluminium profiles at the join, reducing both the material bill and the installation labour compared to standard glazing systems.

At 40mm depth with a U-value of 1.27 W/m²K, THERMOCLICK™ delivers strong thermal insulation in a single panel, contributing directly to the energy performance of the building envelope.

The system is available in a range of colours including clear, opal white, blue, green, yellow, orange, red, and purple, as well as a Solar Control IR variant for applications requiring heat management.

LEXAN™ THERMOCLICK™ Sheet Performance Features

Profiled Interlocking Connection: No Vertical Profiles

The tongue-and-groove snap-fit connection is the core engineering advantage of THERMOCLICK™. Panels connect directly at the edge, replacing the vertical aluminium profiles that conventional glazing systems require at every joint. This reduces total system cost, speeds up on-site assembly, and removes visual clutter from the finished facade.

Thermal Insulation

The four-wall X-structure creates trapped air chambers that significantly resist heat transfer. At a U-value of 1.27 W/m²K, THERMOCLICK™ outperforms conventional double-pane glass in thermal insulation, making it a meaningful contributor to building energy efficiency in both heated and cooled environments.

High Impact Resistance Across Temperatures

THERMOCLICK™ has been tested to withstand simulated hailstones of 20mm diameter at 21 m/s, the terminal velocity of natural hail. At the same conditions, standard float glass (4mm) and acrylic multiwall sheets fail. THERMOCLICK™ shows ductile behaviour on impact, where the surface may indent but the panel does not break or shatter. This performance holds across a temperature range of -40 degrees C to +100 degrees C.

Good Light Transmission and Diffusion

Clear THERMOCLICK™ transmits 59% of visible light, delivering natural daylighting into enclosed spaces. The multiwall structure diffuses that light evenly, reducing glare while maintaining a bright interior environment. Coloured variants reduce light transmission to suit applications where solar heat gain or privacy is a consideration.

Solar Control Options

In addition to the standard colour range, a Solar Control IR variant is available (LTCIR404X40 in green). This grade uses a proprietary additive that selectively absorbs near-infrared radiation, reducing solar heat gain inside the building while retaining useful visible light. For facade projects in warm climates or west-facing orientations, this can reduce cooling loads significantly.

Sound Insulation: 21dB

THERMOCLICK™ provides 21dB of sound insulation per EN ISO 10140-2:2010. For commercial facades, office partitions, and mixed-use buildings in urban environments, this contributes meaningfully to interior acoustic comfort.

Fire Performance

The sheet is rated B, S1, d0 per EN 13501, indicating limited combustibility, very low smoke production, and no burning droplets. This satisfies fire regulations for facades and glazing in most commercial and public building applications.

Easy Fabrication and Installation

THERMOCLICK™ can be cut with standard workshop equipment including circular saws, handsaws, and hacksaws with fine-toothed blades. The panel can be installed from either inside or outside the building. No specialist tools or adhesives are required at vertical joints. Custom lengths up to 6 metres are available as standard, with extended lengths where required.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How is LEXAN™ THERMOCLICK™ different from standard multiwall polycarbonate sheet?

Standard multiwall sheets are flat panels that require a complete aluminium framing system with vertical profiles at every joint. THERMOCLICK™ uses a profiled tongue-and-groove snap-fit connection, allowing panels to interlock directly without vertical profiles. This reduces the total number of components, lowers system cost, and speeds up installation.

Does THERMOCLICK™ require a full aluminium framing system?

Horizontal framing at the top and bottom of the glazed area is still required. What is eliminated is the vertical aluminium profile at every panel joint. The panels connect to each other directly at the side edges, which is where the cost and time savings come from.

What U-value does THERMOCLICK™ achieve?

The panel achieves a U-value of 1.27 W/m2K, as tested per ISO 10077 and EN 673. This outperforms standard double-pane glass and contributes directly to the thermal efficiency of the building envelope.

What colours are available?

THERMOCLICK™ is available in clear, opal white, blue, green, yellow, orange, red, and purple. A Solar Control IR variant in green is also available for applications requiring reduced solar heat gain. Colour availability is subject to order quantity. Contact Kapoor Plastics for current stock and minimum order quantities.

What is the maximum panel length available?

Standard panels are available up to 6 metres in length. Contact Kapoor Plastics for requirements beyond this range.

What is the warranty on LEXAN™ THERMOCLICK™?

Polyvantis provides a 10-year limited warranty covering loss of impact strength due to weathering, discolouration, and loss of light transmission. Full warranty terms are available from Kapoor Plastics on request.

Can the sheet be installed from inside the building?

Yes. THERMOCLICK™ can be installed from either inside or outside the building, providing flexibility for different site and structural conditions.
